If there’s a game on, I’m probably watching–but know I’d rather be blogging.
As a sports reporter based out of southwest Ohio, I’ve spent most of the last five years covering sports around the Buckeye State.
Writing, editing, taking photos, producing video packages, live blogging, Tweeting, Instagraming; if there was something to do at an event, I’ve done it.
I currently run a Cleveland sports blog, appropriately named the Factory of Sadness. I’m a native of northeast Ohio, and while we haven’t seen a winner since 1964, we love talking sports.
In just my second month as co-editor at the site, I helped the blog record a record 325,000 page views thanks to a 70,000 page-view post I wrote profiling the writer who broke the story that LeBron James would return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Before my gig at the Factory, I freelanced the Dayton prep scene, and authored a Cincinnati Reds column for CIVITAS media during the 2013 season.
Prior to these stops, I worked as a reporter for Enquirer Media in Cincinnati, I told the stories of area’s prep athletes, in addition to running the company’s fantasy sports blog.
I was also one of the first within the sports department to take advantage of video. Following games and press events, video posts always performed well. I helped lead the way for a company that wanted to capitalize on “digital first” mentality.
On a personal note, I’m married to an attorney and never win an argument. My wife and I have three kids and recently moved to the country, where one of my sons is probably out playing in a creek.
